Chippy Flower Farm is a two-acre plot dedicated to growing a wide variety of lovely and unusual flowers and foliage on a farm in Little Tew, just outside Chipping Norton. It was set up in 2021 to offer locals a more sustainable alternative to imported flowers.
Our farm shop and PYO patches are open in the spring, summer and early autumn. In the colder months, the farm shop closes but we take flower orders by email up to December.
We offer workshops year round.
Freshly picked, locally grown flowers
No air miles
No chemicals or pesticides
Over 85% of the cut flowers available in the UK via subscription services, florist shops, and supermarkets are grown abroad on an industrial scale (using heated tunnels and synthetic chemical inputs) and then flown or trucked over to Britain.
Our aim is to grow exquisite cut flowers for Oxfordshire locals with the lowest possible carbon footprint we can achieve.
Our market-garden scale flower farm uses the No Dig regenerative farming method, a system which preserves the structure of our soil, helps retain moisture and increases the soil biodiversity.
Our flowers are grown in their natural season, and our production methods are focused on careful stewardship of the land in terms of biodiversity, soil health, and pollinators.
We irrigate using as much harvested rainwater as we can and power the farm from solar energy.
Our flowers are harvested by hand and wrapped for sale in paper that can be composted or recycled to reduce single-use plastic.
These are flowers that locals can buy, knowing they have enhanced the planet rather than damaged it.
No refrigeration
No peat
The Flower Hut
Our farm shop, The Flower Hut, is open Thursdays (9.30-4), Fridays (9.30-4) and Saturdays (9.30-3) during the growing season (March-October). We sell flowers by the bucket (to take home and arrange yourself), or as made-up bouquets. We also stock a carefully curated range of gifts, flower presses, candles, books, botanical skincare and hand-thrown ceramic vases.
The Farm
We grow a wide mix of annuals, perennials, grasses, foliage and cottage garden favourites, in a range of colours and varieties that you don’t always see. Everything we grow is sown, planted and harvested with the seasons, using regenerative practises wherever possible.
Workshops
Workshops are taught in our light-filled floristry studio, with glorious views over the Little Tew valley.
